What it is & why it matters

Understanding foundation piering

Foundation piering (also called underpinning) solves the most common cause of a sinking foundation: soil that can no longer carry your home’s weight. Over time, moisture changes, poor compaction, or erosion let the ground beneath your footings give way — and your foundation goes with it.

Our crew installs galvanized steel piers deep below the problem soil until they reach a firm, load-bearing layer or bedrock. Heavy-duty brackets then connect those piers to your footing, shifting the weight off the unstable dirt. In many cases we can even lift the foundation back toward its original position.

Settlement never gets better on its own. The sooner we pier, the more of your foundation we can usually recover.
